About Us

kirk-alice-desk-170pxWhat type of financial advisor will you rely on?

A fee-only financial planner works solely for her clients, and is compensated by a previously agreed upon fee. Fee-Only advisors do not accept commissions or receive any other compensation for recommending specific products. We have a fiduciary relationship with our clients, meaning that we put our clients’ interests first. These are unusual economic times. It may pay to have professional guidance to help you avoid the pitfalls, especially for those that are at or near retirement with a nest egg to be protected.

Alice Rhodes is a Certified Financial Planner™ licensee. Alice opened her fee-only financial planning practice in 1996, following 17 years in the employee benefits field, where she served as an HMO operations manager, and later, as a benefits manager. Her prior experience included intensive training in insurance contracts, government pensions, health and disability insurance, and counseling individuals through life-changing events concerning disability and retirement.

Alice acts as her client’s general financial manager, developing the financial plan and coordinating with insurance, legal and tax professionals to design a program that is customized to each client’s needs.

Alice is a NAPFA-Registered Advisor. NAPFA, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, is the largest fee-only financial planners association in the U.S. Fee-only planners join NAPFA’s ranks to enhance their skills, share ideas with other like-minded financial advisors, and be part of a collective, influential voice on matters that affect them and their clients. Operating under a strict code of ethics and fiduciary oath, NAPFA members are trusted, objective financial advisors for consumers. For more about NAPFA, visit www.napfa.org.

Alice is something of a throwback to earlier times. She was perhaps one of the last of her generation with a degree in Home Economics (B.S. from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo). She loves to cook and enjoys quilting and sewing. She cooks, cans and freezes the overwhelming supply of salmon and tuna when husband Murphy, an avid sports fisherman, brings home the catch.
